EPL 2016-17: Manchester City 4-0 Bournemouth - Player Ratings

Kevin de Bruyne pulled City’s strings as they romped to a 4-0 victory.

Bournemouth

Bournemouth failed to contain Kevin de Bruyne who put on a Man of the Match performance.

Artur Boruc – 5.5/10

The Cherries keeper had a tough time at Etihad as the City onslaught refused to cease. He made a few decent saves to keep the scoreline respectable.

Adam Smith – 6/10

The right-back managed to reduce the impact of Nolito on the game to an extent and was involved in the clash that led to the sending off of City’s wide man. He showed good grit in the second half including an energetic run into the box and squaring up the ball to Callum Wilson whose shot was saved.

Simon Francis – 5.5/10

The centre-back had spells of decent defending before City’s attack broke through it as he endured a torrid afternoon.

Steve Cook – 5.5/10

Cook had a similar outing as the rest of the defence with good blocks and interceptions at times. However, the City attack proved too much for him as goals were leaked.

Charlie Daniels – 5/10

Daniels had an afternoon to forget as Sterling troubled him throughout the match as he failed to keep the City winger from cutting inside.

Jordon Ibe – 4.5/10

The former Liverpool winger’s game still suffers from lack of end product. He was replaced at half-time by Callum Wilson.

Jack Wilshere – 4.5/10

Wilshere was outclassed by City’s midfield as he lost possession a number of times and his foul on Fernandinho lead to the opening goal.

Andrew Surman – 5/10

The Cherries’ midfielder had an afternoon similar to his defence as they were just bossed by City’s midfield and attack.

Harry Arter – 6/10

Arter had a decent game with some good passes and tried to create something of his own in the second half with good runs but to no avail.

Junior Stanislas – 5.5/10

The winger could not get the better of City’s defence on the day and was replaced in the second half.

Joshua King – 6/10

King started the game well beating Otamendi a few times for pace but needed to finish better before shifted wide in the second half.

Substitutes

Callum Wilson – 6/10

Wilson was introduced at half-time as the Cherries tried to mount a comeback and provided a good focal point up top and rattled the crossbar in the best chance for Bournemouth on the day.

Dan Gosling – 5.5/10

He replaced Jack Wilshere in the second half but failed to impact the game.

Max Gradel – 5.5/10

Gradel came on for Stanislas, however, could not make any notable contribution.
