- Ryan Giggs received his first international honours for England when he was selected for England schoolboys under 15s in the late 80s and he was offered his first pro contract with Man Utd on November 29, 1990, aged 17.

- A first Premier League title for Giggs came in 1993 and 12 others have followed since. He scored his debut goal against Manchester City in 1991 and has gone on to score 109 in the Premier League.

- There are 65 players in the Premier League who were not born when Giggs signed for Man Utd in 1990.

- Giggs made his league debut before the death of Freddie Mercury and the release of Lebanon hostage Terry Waite. Bryan Adams’ ‘I do it for you’ had not yet hit the charts and petrol was priced around 40p per litre.

- Giggs has picked up just 28 bookings in his career which means an average of one caution every 36 games.
