Fantasy Premier League 2017/18: 5 Midfielders to select in Gameweek 7

CSKA Moskva v Manchester United - UEFA Champions League
Henrikh Mkhitaryan

Midfielders are the heart and soul of a football team.

They pull the strings in the centre of the pitch, provide pinpoint passes and crosses. They even chip in with goals when the frontline is having a bad day at the office. This season has not been any different with the likes of Mkhitaryan, Silva wreaking havoc in the opposition half

Here are 5 options to select in Gameweek 7:

#1. Henrikh Mkhitaryan(£8.5m, Manchester United):

The Armenian magician has made a huge turnaround since the start of this season. He was a pale shadow of his Dortmund self last season when he scored 4 and assisted just once in the Premier League.

This season he's already assisted 5 times and scored once and is just one behind David Silva in the assist leaders list.

This week he faces a Crystal Palace side which has not kept a clean sheet in their last 6 games and with Lukaku in such deadly form expect to witness some Mkhi Magic come Saturday.

#2. Mo Salah(£9.1m, Liverpool):

Spartak Moskva v Liverpool FC - UEFA Champions League
Mo Salah

Mo Salah has been the most impressive newcomer since his arrival to the premier league this year and has emerged as a dark horse for the Golden Boot. He's already scored 4 goals and assisted twice this season, one more impressive statistic about him has been that he has scored every time he has played 80+ minutes this season. So expect him to score every time he's in for a full match.

This week he faces Newcastle at the St.James Park. But whether the match is at home or away has never been a problem for this Liverpool side whose attacking football always has the opposition on the backfoot. So expect the Salah train to be at the right place, at the right time come Sunday.

#3. Matt Ritchie(£6.0, Newcastle United):

Newcastle United v Aston Villa - Sky Bet Championship
Matt Ritchie

As talented as Liverpool are on the attacking front, their defensive frailties have always been a catalyst to their downfall this season. Newcastle will look to fully utilize this major weakness when the Reds come to St James Park on Sunday.

Matt Ritchie who has been in sublime form this season with 4 assists in 6 games would love to play the role of provider again this weekend.

#4. David Silva(£8.2m, Manchester City):

Manchester City v Newcastle United - Premier League
David Silva

El Mago, one of City's longest-serving midfield generals, is again at the heart of Citizens' midfield this season assisting 6 times in 6 games this 17-18 campaign.

This week city travel to Stamford Bridge, at the top of their game right now Man CIty have been ruthless scoring 16 goals in their last three games in the Premier League.

If City are anywhere near their ruthless best against Chelsea, expect Silva to be pulling the strings.

#5. Heung-Min Son(£8.0, Tottenham Hotspur):

Chelsea v Tottenham Hotspur - The Emirates FA Cup Semi-Final
Heung-Min Son

Spurs' talismanic midfielder, Christian Eriksen, is down with illness and is most probably expected to miss this weekend's clash against Newcastle.

Son is expected to fill the void left by the Dane and if his exploits in the previous seasons are anything to go by then you must know that Son has always performed when provided with an opportunity, so make sure Son is in your squad when Spurs face off against the Toon.
