Despite falling agonizingly short to Manchester City in the race for the Premier League title, Liverpool enjoyed a fantastic season in England's top flight, amassing a record-breaking tally of 97 points.

The 2018/19 edition of Fantasy Premier League was largely dominated by Liverpool players as Alisson Becker, Andy Robertson and Mohamed Salah finished the season as the top point scoring players in their respective positions.

The likes of Sadio Mane, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk were also incredibly popular among FPL managers.

The trio were named in the PFA Team of the Tournament, with Virgil van Dijk becoming the first defender since John Terry to win the PFA Player of the Year award.

Liverpool present 6 usable FPL options at the very least and managers have a battle in their hands to select up to 3 players for the forthcoming season.

With that in mind and a lot of deliberation, we've selected 3 Liverpool players who look well set to carry on from where they left off last season and make a big impact this time around.

#1 Mohamed Salah - £12.5 million

Mohamed Salah's inclusion at the top of the list should come as no surprise. The Egyptian superstar has been one of the most productive players in world football since his move to Liverpool and his attacking output has been leaps and bounds ahead of anybody in the Premier League.

The 27-year-old won back-to-back golden boots, scoring a staggering 54 PL goals in two seasons at Liverpool and is sure to be a popular choice among FPL managers.

With 258 points last season, Salah was the FPL top point scorer for the second successive season and he did so whilst racking up 22 goals and 12 assists.

Although Sadio Mane scored as many goals as him in the Premier League, Salah's role as Liverpool's designated penalty taker tips the balance in his favor.

#2 Trent Alexander-Arnold - £7 million

Trent Alexander-Arnold enjoyed an outrageous season with the reigning European champions. Despite being out injured for a month, the young Scouser broke the Premier League record for the most assists registered by a defender in a season, accumulating an astonishing 12 assists.

The £7 million price tag might seem steep but Trent's ability to rack up points on both ends of the pitch could prove to be invaluable for FPL managers. Alexander-Arnold's set-piece ability could also come in handy, as Liverpool were the most prolific team from set-pieces last season.

Aside from registering 12 PL assists, Alexander-Arnold and Liverpool also registered a season-high 21 clean sheets, making the young defender a premium choice among defenders.

#3 Andy Robertson - £7 million

Although his fellow full-back partner Alexander-Arnold broke the PL assists record, Andy Robertson was the top point scoring defender in Fantasy Premier League last season.

The Scotsman clocked over 3000 minutes domestically last season and was an embodiment of consistency as Liverpool registered a record-breaking tally of 97 points in the Premier League.

Alexander-Arnold's set-piece ability marginally tips the balance in his favor but Robertson's luck with injuries coupled with the level of consistency he has exhibited in his time at Liverpool levels the playing field.

Robertson is quite easily the best left-back in the country and it wouldn't be going too far to say he's among the best players in the world in his position.

With 11 assists and 213 points to his name, Robertson is once again expected to be a massively popular option among FPL managers.

As we mentioned earlier, Liverpool have a plethora of options in the FPL fray and the likes of Sadio Mane, Alisson Becker, Virgil van Dijk, and Roberto Firmino could all be big players for the European champions this season.

After careful consideration, we've finally picked 3 players who could make big impacts this season. Who would you be picking? Let us know in the comments below!
