Fernando Torres on his way to Manchester City?

According to The Sunday Telegraph, Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini could make a move to add Chelsea striker Fernando Torres to his already formidable strike force in the coming transfer window.

Torres, 28, who has only managed a paltry sum of 11 league goals since his arrival at Stamford Bridge in January 2011, has struggled to find any kind of scoring form at the London club.

Roberto Mancini looks to provide the Spanish striker a fresh start if the new Chelsea boss, Rafael Benitez fails to bring the best out of his No. 9.

The news comes ahead of an all important clash between the two sides later tonight, as it marks Benitez’s first game as Chelsea manager. It will also be a fresh beginning for the Torres-Benitez partnership that enjoyed a fairly successful spell at Liverpool.
