Filipe Luis has poured cold water on speculation that he could be set for a move to the Premier League, insisting he is very happy to stay at Atletico Madrid and has no intention of leaving the club.

Chelsea have been linked with a move for the Brazilian left-back this summer as they search for a replacement for Ashley Cole, who has opted to leave the Blues at the end of his contract in search of regular first team football, with Jose Mourinho having preferred to play right-back Cesar Azpilicueta out of position for the majority of the season.

The likes of Luke Shaw and Alberto Moreno have also been linked, but Filipe Luis has leapt to the front of Mourinho’s wishlist after heavily impressing at Atletico as they won a first league title this century and came to within a few seconds of lifting a maiden Champions League title as well.

Filipe however is not interested in a move away, telling reporters, “I have a contract for three years.

“My thought is to continue. We have to lift our heads high and think about the next goal,” he declared.
