Jose Mourinho's hugely dominant Chelsea side unsurprisingly top this list. Mourinho - a master front-runner ensured his team got their points on the board early.

Who ended the run?

Everton. A James Beattie penalty put the Merseysiders ahead at Goodison Park before a deflected Frank Lampard strike squared the game and preserved Chelsea's unbeaten run but ended their record winning start.

However, they would go on to win a further six games in a row to top the table with 15 wins from 16 games as the imperious Londoners marched towards the title.

Where did they finish?

Champions. It wasn't even close. Mourinho's men won the title at a canter, finishing eight points clear of rivals Manchester United.
