Aguero's goal in the 48th minute was record-breaking as it was his eighth Manchester derby goal, equalling Wayne Rooney's record as the player with the most goals in the fixture.

The striker netted his first goal against Manchester United in a thrilling derby on October 2011.

In his first season at the Etihad, the striker managed to find the net in a 6-1 thrashing of the Red Devils at Old Trafford.
