Chelsea bounced back from their defeat against New York Red Bulls by beating Paris St Germain on penalties with a solid second half display in Charlotte, North Carolina. As expected, the clash between the two European sides was a feisty affair.

The match ended 1-1 during regular time as Zlatan Ibrahimovic opened the scoring for the French Champions with a powerful left-footed strike before Victor Moses brought Jose Mourinho’s men back into the match with a volley from close range.

As the match went into penalties, it was Thibaut Courtois who inspired Chelsea to a win over PSG. The Belgian keeper was the hero of the match as he saved two penalties and also struck the winning penalty after sending the ball into the top corner to seal a hard-fought win.

Radamel Falcao made his debut for the Blues and looked sharp in the match and the Colombian also converted his penalty in the shoot-out. The win would have done the team a lot of good after the Premier League champions had slumped to a defeat to New York Red Bulls.
