Chelsea Player Ratings against Juventus

Juventus kept Chelsea's main man Romelu Lukaku (centre) under wraps.
Juventus kept Chelsea's main man Romelu Lukaku (centre) under wraps.

Edouard Mendy - 6.5/10

The Chelsea goalkeeper laid down a marker against Juventus with his exceptional distribution skills. Mendy read the game brilliantly, but couldn't keep out Chiesa's blistering effort.

Andreas Christensen - 7/10

He produced a crunch tackle on Bentancur just a few seconds after kick-off but struggled thereafter. Chiesa, in particular, never gave Christensen a moment's rest.

Thiago Silva - 7.5/10

The most assured presence in Chelsea's backline, Thiago Silva kept his composure when Juventus attacked, winning a few key duels.

Antonio Rudiger - 6/10

Rudiger has had such a fine campaign so far. But against Juventus, he was totally out of his elements, struggling to cope with the game's tempo and conceding a few cheap fouls. The Chelsea centre-back also didn't track Chiesa in the build-up to Juventus' winner.

Cesar Azpilicueta - 7/10

The Chelsea captain laid some good passes, albeit they came to nothing. His crosses weren't accurate either, completing neither of his three attempts. Azpilicueta was hooked off after the hour mark as Tuchel sought to speed up proceedings.

Jorginho - 6/10

He was another key Chelsea man who flopped big time on the night, Jorginho nearly gifted Juventus an early goal with a horrible pass, and their high press made him highly uncomfortable.

Mateo Kovacic - 6/10

Kovacic fared no different than Jorginho. The Croat also made two awful passes inside the opening 20 minutes, and struggled to control the midfield.

Marcos Alonso - 5/10

Alonso's renaissance hit a new low, with the Spaniard having an absolute stinker on the night. He also picked up a needless booking for pushing Cuadrado. Tuchel hooked Alonso off at the break.

Hakim Ziyech - 6/10

Besides winning a few fouls and laying some good passes, there was little to write home about Ziyech. The Moroccan was well below his best once again.

Kai Havertz - 5/10

The German made a few good runs down the flanks, and looked to find some openings, but to no avail. He also headed a glorious chance from a corner over the bar in stoppage time.

Romelu Lukaku - 5/10

It was a quiet night for the Big Rom, as Juventus did a terrific job of cutting off all the supply lines to him. When two opportunities were presented to him, Lukaku ended up wasting both of them.

Ratings of Chelsea substitutes against Juventus

Ben Chilwell - 5/10

Tuchel looked to fire up the left flank with this substitution. But Chilwell instead was cold, and barely even saw the ball on the night.

Callum Hudson-Odoi - 6.5/10

Adventurous and full of energy, Hudson-Odoi kept Sandro busy after coming on, enjoying a good cameo.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek - 6.5/10

A decent performance from the Chelsea youngster, whose first- ouches were good. He laid one key pass too.

Trevoh Chalobah - 6.5/10

He helped protect the backline, doing a decent job.

Ross Barkley - 6/10

The former Everton man got the ball in good areas. He created a good chance for Lukaku, which the striker ended up mishitting.
