What's the story?

Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici has confirmed that the Serie A table-toppers are interested in signing Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey.

In case you didn't know...

Rumours of Ramsey leaving the Gunners have been rife in previous months as the Welshman is set to see his contract run out at the end of the season.

The midfielder's departure is expected after the North London club decided that they no longer needed his services and refused to offer him a new deal.

The Arsenal star walked into the new year free to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with any club of his liking outside of England. Non-English clubs are allowed to sign players from the Premier League in the last six months of their contracts.

The 28-year-old has also been linked to Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain and Bundesliga outfit Bayern Munich.

Ramsey has so far netted 60 goals in 352 appearances for the Gunners.

The heart of the matter

Paratici has now confirmed that the Bianconeri side is keen on getting the Welshman's signature, telling Sky Sport Italia, "Yes, we are interested in Aaron Ramsey."

"He's a great midfielder but at the moment he's an Arsenal player. We will see.""He's a great player, he's been at great levels for years and plays in a great team.

"It [Ramsey's contract] is due to expire and we are always attentive to the situations that can be created. Juve are on him. Will Ramsey play with us after July? This is all to be verified. For now, he is an Arsenal player."

What's next?

Arsenal currently sit at 5th place with 41 points in the Premier League table after they registered a thumping win over Fulham.

The club is next set to lock horns with Blackpool in an FA Cup clash on Saturday.
