Reports: Juventus plot summer transfer move for Manchester United superstar

Juventus are one of the most shrewd operators in the transfer market and now latest reports in The Times claim that the Old Lady are interested in making a move for Manchester United forward Anthony Martial. The Frenchman has a contract until the end of next season and Juventus are looking to take advantage of that fact.

However, United are keen to renew his contract and the Red Devils will be looking to extend his stay at Old Trafford in the coming weeks.

Bought in 2014 by Louis van Gaal, Martial was tipped to become a global superstar in the future. However, the Frenchman struggled slightly under Jose Mourinho before rediscovering his best form once again.

This season, the 22-year-old has been pretty consistent with his performances and has edged ahead of the likes of Lingard and Rashford in the pecking order. Still young, Martial definitely has the potential to become one of the best forwards in the world.

Alexis Sanchez arrived at Old Trafford in January and that has seen Martial being shunted around the field. With Mourinho struggling to integrate the likes of Lukaku, Martial, Rashford, and Sanchez into the starting line-up, the Frenchman's performances have tapered off again in the recent weeks.

With his contract running out next season, Juventus are keen to exploit the uncertainty surrounding Martial at the moment and are ready to make a move for the talented 22-year-old.

While Martial is an excellent option for Juventus, Manchester United will not want to lose one of the most talented youngsters in world football in the coming transfer window.

The Red Devils should definitely do everything in their power to keep Martial at Old Trafford and offer him a new and improved contract as soon as possible.
