Antonio Conte and his team put in an edgy yet effective performance away from home against a spirited Leicester City attack to enter the last four of the FA Cup.
In the initial phase of the game, it looked like the West London side was still reeling from the loss suffered against Barcelona in the Round of 16 of the Champions League. However, clever substitutions from Conte and effective counter-attacking from Chelsea saw the reigning Premier League champions through to the semi-final of the FA Cup.
The match went to extra-time after the sides were tied at 1-1 at the conclusion of 90 minutes. In a brilliant cameo, Pedro scored a straightforward header in the first half of the extra time to claim the game for his side.

Leicester City
Kasper Schmeichel: 5/10
The goalkeeper was at the top of his game and he made some good saves in the 90 minutes. He couldn't do much for the first goal but could have done a bit better for the second one.
Danny Simpson: 6/10
The right-back was weak in one-on-one duels and did not look comfortable going forward. He tried to put in some crosses, but couldn't really muster anything noteworthy. Average performance by him on the night.
Wes Morgan: 7/10
This strong and burly Jamaican did not let the Chelsea attack get the better of him. He was a strong presence in the Leicester defence and was vital to keeping them alive in the game when they were a goal down.
Harry Maguire: 7/10
The centre-back was really good going forward and produced some effective long balls for the attackers. He played a vital role in helping Jamie Vardy clinch the second goal of the game.
Ben Chilwell: 6/10
The left-back looked threatening while going forward but was a little shaky at the back. He is someone who can dribble well and beat players using his pace, so he's an exciting prospect for the Foxes.
Riyad Mahrez: 7.5/10
The Algerian played pretty well and with his sleek passing and effective vision, he caused many problems for the Chelsea defence. It was him who set up Vardy for the goal in the second half.
Vicente Iborra: 6/10
His forward passing was accurate and to the mark, but he struggled to maintain the defensive shape in midfield. Lost numerous duels and did not provide the strong cover for the defence.
Wilfred Ndidi: 8/10
He probably was the best Leicester player on the field yesterday. Ndidi rose to the challenge pretty well and did well against the likes of Kante and Bakayoko and made as many as 10 tackles in the game.
Marc Albrighton: 7/10
He had a good game and looked promising on the left flank. Tried to create numerous chances and was very much involved in the Leicester attack throughout the game.
Kelechi Iheanacho: 5/10
Conte specifically pointed out before the game that Iheanacho was a threat. The Italian was successful in his attempt, as the striker was nullified in the 68 minutes that he played.
Jamie Vardy: 7.5/10
The Englishman is a big match player who always turns up against strong teams and celebrated opposition. He did the same against Chelsea, and it was his goal that brought Leicester back into the game and pushed the Blues into extra-time.
Substitutes
Shinji Okazaki: 6/10
He couldn't affect the game after coming on in the second half. The Japanese footballer is much more clinical in the final third than he was on the night.
Adrien Silva: 5/10
He was brought into the game in the first half of the extra time but barely had any vital touches on the ball.
Fousseni Diabate and Demarai Gray: 5/10
They came in too late to have any real impact on the proceedings. Could not create anything special in their brief display on the night.
Chelsea
Willy Caballero: 6.5/10
The Chelsea keeper put up a better display than his Leicester counterpart, but the Argentine still had more than one scrappy moment in the game.
Cesar Azpilicueta: 7/10
The Spaniard was not at his effective best on the day. He dealt well with Iheanacho but was tested by Albrighton throughout.
Andreas Christensen: 8/10
He was the best defender for the Blues on the night. Showed his composure while passing and made some crucial interceptions to retain Chelsea's lead after the first as well as the third goal of the night.
Antonio Rudiger: 6.5/10
He wasn't very reliable at the back and lost many duels, but still maintained his position well through the game.
Victor Moses: 6/10
He put in a lot of effort, but as usual, lacked precision in the final third. He lost many aerial and regular duels on the day and looked like a weak link in the set-up.
Tiemoue Bakayoko: 4/10
Another bad outing. He barely looked in control in the game and was predictably substituted for Cech Fabregas at half-time.
N'Golo Kante: 9/10
The midfielder clearly was the best football player on the pitch. He was immense throughout the game, worked really hard off the ball and was the vital cog in Chelsea's set-up for the day.
Marcos Alonso: 8/10
As always, he looked lucid in the attack and threatened the Leicester defence more often than not. He couldn't stop Mahrez to set up the hosts' goal for the night, but was brilliant on every other occasion, more so going forward.
Willian: 8.5/10
The Brazilian just continues to go from strength to strength this season and his outing against Leicester was a testament to the same. He made some terrific runs in the first half of the game and played a sensational pass to Morata for Chelsea's first goal of the night.
Eden Hazard: 7/10
The Belgian is usually a lot more efficient on the ball than he was against Leicester in the game. He couldn't drive the ball forward with pace and made a couple of bad first touches in the final chunks of the match.
Alvaro Morata: /10
The Spaniard ended his goal-drought but still needs to improve his overall gameplay. The finish will give him some confidence, however, as he has looked woefully out of touch.
Substitutes
Cesc Fabregas: 6.5/10
He did better than Bakayoko when he was brought on for the Frenchman, but still hit some mistimed passes in the game. However, he defended well in extra-time and put the pressure back on the hosts with his steady display.
Pedro Rodriguez: 7.5/10
Made bad decisions in the final third every time before scoring the winner for Chelsea. His perfectly hit header was enough to usher them into the semi-final of the tournament.
Gary Cahill: 6.5/10
Brought his experience into play and did well on most occasions but was found out of position in a couple of set-pieces.
Olivier Giroud: 5/10
His duty was to hold up the play and use up the time in the last minutes of the game. The Frenchman did that well but did not have much time to impact the game substantially. He gets a standard five.
