Bayern Munich Player Ratings:

Olympique Lyonnais vs Bayern Munich - UEFA Champions League Semi-Final
Olympique Lyonnais vs Bayern Munich - UEFA Champions League Semi-Final

Manuel Neuer - 7/10

He didn't really have a save of note to make in the first half, despite Lyon's domination in the opening minutes of the game. He did, however, stand up tall to make a superb save off Ekambi's shot in the second half.

Joshua Kimmich - 6/10

Kimmich didn't really have the best of games. His passing was a bit shoddy for the most part and he allowed Cornet the chance to set Ekambi up before Boateng intervened. He did finish the night with an assist, though.

Jerome Boateng - 7/10

Boateng played only one half but was crucial to ensuring that Bayern Munich didn't concede after they were dominated in the opening exchanges. He got in the way of a Cornet cross that would have given Ekambi an easy tap-in. Bayern Munich fans will hope he was only taken off as a means of preservation and not because of an injury.

David Alaba - 8/10

Alaba was excellent for Bayern Munich. He was strong in the tackle, very good in the air and used his pace well to match the likes of Ekambi and Depay stride for stride.

Alphonso Davies - 5/10

After an excellent game against Barcelona in the last round, Davies was a lot more subdued tonight. He couldn't really find too many occasions to run in behind the Lyon defence.

Thiago Alcantara - 8/10

He got very lucky early in the game when a stray pass was pounced upon by Caqueret to set up Memphis, but the Lyon captain fluffed his lines. After that, though, Thiago composed himself and was instrumental in Bayern Munich regaining control of the game and playing it at their tempo.

Leon Goretzka - 6/10

Goretzka should've scored early in the game after a sumptuous one-two with Lewandowski, only to completely mishit his shot. His energy complemented Thiago's technicality fabulously, as usual.

Serge Gnabry - 9/10

The hero of the night. Gnabry scored two sensational goals. The first was an outrageous left-footed shot after he dribbled past a host of Lyon defenders. The second, a simple tap-in, showed the value of being in the right place at the right time. He has now scored nine goals in as many Champions League games for Bayern Munich this season.

Thomas Muller - 6/10

Muller was industrious but didn't really have the quality that we've generally seen from him during the course of the season. He also got in the way of his own teammates' shots a couple of times.

Ivan Perisic - 7/10

It was another solid outing for Persic on the left-flank. He set up Lewandowski who fluffed his lines but Gnabry scored to save Bayern Munich's and the Polish striker's blushes.

Robert Lewandowski - 8/10

The Pole was outstanding again. His strength, linkup play and passing were all phenomenal for the entirety of the night, but he uncharacteristically missed two rather easy chances in the first half.

He did get his goal late in the game, though, and has now scored in all nine games in the competition this season - a Champions League record.

Bayern Munich Substitutes Ratings:

Niklas Sule - 5/10

After coming on to replace Boateng at half-time, Sule would've breathed a huge sigh of relief. His mistake let Aouar through who set up Ekambi, but Neuer saved the big defender's blushes.

Kingsley Coman - 5/10

He got the ball in very promising positions and did try to run at the Lyon full-backs, but didn't do so with much effectiveness.

Philippe Coutinho - 6/10

Coutinho had the ball in the back of the net, but the effort was ruled out for offside. He also received a sensational Neuer throw high on the left flank and curled an effort narrowly wide of the far post.

Benjamin Pavard - 5/10

Pavard's return from an ankle injury is welcome news for Bayern Munich manager Hansi Flick ahead of the final against Paris St. Germain.

Corentin Tolisso - 5/10

He could've had a goal against his former club but put his shot high after great work from Muller.
