Man United Transfer News: Sneijder Says Inter Will Sell For Right Price

Inter Milan midfielder Wesley Sneijder has revealed that the club is willing to sell him if the right offer comes along, as they have a dire need for funds. He was hopeful of knowing more on the situation after the international friendly against England in midweek. Sneijer has been the prime target of English club Manchester United, and more recently their cross-town rivals Manchester City as well.

Sneijer unsure of Inter future

Speaking to Dutch media outlet Voetbal International, Sneijder said that his parent club Inter were cash strapped and wouldn’t be averse to letting him go for a bumper bid. He was non-committal to any concrete transfer talk however, and said that the picture would be clearer after the international game.

He said-

“All I know is that Inter need money and that I’m for sale if the right offer comes in. I have five days off after the international friendly against England on Wednesday. I expect clarity on my future by then,”

The 27 year old, who has a contract with the Italians until 2015, refused to be drawn on widespread rumours that both Man United and Man City were after his signature. He declined to have talked to either of the clubs, and admitted to being in the dark about his overall future for now.

He said-

“I can be very brief about the interest from Manchester United and City: I haven’t spoken with either of those two clubs, so I can’t really say much about my future at the moment.”

The former Ajax and Real Madrid star has been on form this pre-season, scoring a stunning free-kick in Inter’s 2-1 loss to champions AC Milan in the Italian Super Cup. Man United (who themselves won the Community Shield yesterday in a thrilling 3-2 encounter with Man City) are in need of a creative CM to fill the void left by the departing Paul Scholes. None of Michael Carrick, Anderson or Darren Gibson looks to be capable deputies, although Tom Cleverly showed that the answer to that question could come from within United’s own youth academy.

United fans will hope that the Sneijder situation is sorted out as quickly as possible with the Premier League season barely a week away. Stay tuned for more in this regard.
