Manchester City's Yaya Toure refuses to rule out PSG move

Manchester United midfielder Yaya Toure

PSG needs to have some bakers on standby as Yaya Toure has refused to rule out a move to the French giants in the future. The Ivorian, who has come under intense scrutiny due to sub-par performances this season, has said that he would not close the door to a big club when asked about speculation regarding his transfer to PSG.

After helping Manchester City win the premier league last season, the 31-year-old was upset when his birthday wasn’t celebrated with as much gusto as he would have liked and his agent claimed that Toure may leave in the summer transfer window.

Performances of Toure this season haven’t been the same as the previous campaign

However, a move did not materialize and Yaya was wearing the sky blue jersey when the season began. His recent quotes would definitely cast some more doubt on his future at the Manchester-based club.

His performances this season haven’t lived up to the high standards he has set for himself and with the club trying to extend Frank Lampard’s loan beyond January, the city fans may have to accept that their highest scorer from last season would not be gracing the Etihad stadium in the near future.

Frank Lampard was brought in on loan from New York City and has scored 4 goals in 8 matches, while Yaya Toure has 3 in 16 matches.

“You never close the door on a big club” – Toure

When Toure was asked about a move to PSG, he didn’t shy away from it and said, “As a good Muslim, it is important for me to be happy to continue my job. You never know what’ll happen tomorrow. The most important thing for me is to try to win as many games as possible. You never close the door on a big club.”

Despite a not-so-great start to the season, Yaya Toure is still considered as one of the finest, if not the finest, midfielders in the EPL. He is still capable of providing moments of magic in matches like he showed with a sublime goal against Aston Villa.

The noisy neighbours will therefore, be reluctant to let their talismanic midfielder move without securing a replacement for him as they seek to catch up on league leaders Chelsea.
