Ole Gunnar Solskjaer might be an interim boss at Old Trafford, but that hasn't deprived him of the powers enjoyed by a permanent manager at any other club in the world. According to The Sun, the Norwegian could also decide the fate of a bunch of stars at Old Trafford.

Spanish midfielders Juan Mata and Ander Herrera are nearing the end of their respective contracts at the end of the season and Solskjaer's views could well decide their futures at the club.

The United hierarchy will also consider his views in the cases of Antonio Valencia and Phil Jones, who also are in the final months of their deals.

Solskjaer will also have a major say in the future of Andreas Pereira. The Brazilian is rumoured to be frustrated and looking to leave the club, but more game time could convince him to stay put.

Manchester United recently extended David De Gea's stay by twelve months and the positive results under the 46-year-old coach could play a major role in securing his future at the club. The Spanish shot-stopper is wanted by Juventus and Paris Saint Germain.

Italian journalist Nicolo Schira has claimed that Manchester United have shown concrete interest in signing AS Roma defender Kostas Manolas ahead of the 2019/20 season. According to him, the club have already held talks with his agent Mino Raiola over a potential move for the Greek defender.

Schira took to Twitter to reveal the details of the talks between Raiola and United. Apparently, the Red Devils are ready to trigger the €36m (£32m) clause in Manolas' contract and are offering him €6m per year.

Mino Raiola has played instrumental roles in the past, delivering the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paul Pogba and Henrikh Mkhitaryan to Manchester United.

Manolas is considered as a secondary target after Napoli rejected United's advances for Kalidou Koulibaly. The Greek defender is regarded as one of the finest and most reliable centre-halves in the Serie A at the moment.

It's no secret that Manchester United are scouring the market to sign a defender so as to add steal to their backline. They have been linked with a number of players and Fiorentina center-half Nikola Milenkovic is one of them.

The Serbian defender has emerged as one of the best young talents in his position in recent times. According to British outlet The Sun, Solskjaer will discuss a £45m move for the 21-year-old with Ed Woodward this week.

The Red Devils were also said to be monitoring Milenkovic's situation when Jose Mourinho was in the hot seat at Old Trafford. Now, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in charge and breathing a new life into the team, the club wants to secure the services of the Serbian in this month.

Manchester United could face competition from Juventus and Atletico Madrid, who are also interested in signing the 21-year-old.
