Manchester United Transfer Rumour: Jose Mourinho preparing to let go of 10 players in January

Jose Mourinho could field a completely different Manchester United in February

According to multiple reports in this morning’s British press, Manchester United are said to be preparing for a host of offers on ten of their first-team stars. Jose Mourinho has a kept a few players in the dark over their future but could soon find them in different clubs come the start of the winter transfer window.

The reports suggest that a host of Manchester United stars – who were bought as recently as only two years ago – could find themselves going through offers in January. Louis van Gaal brought in the likes of Daley Blind, Anthony Martial, Morgan Schneiderlin, Matteo Darmian, Marcus Rojo, and Memphis Depay to the club and all six of them could be sold by the club for failing to live up to Mourinho’s standards.

Depay and Schneiderlin have been subject to a lot of interest from Premier League rivals Everton with Ronald Koeman prepared to give them a chance to lift the Toffees from their current slump of form.

Elsewhere, longer-term Manchester United players in Ashley Young, Sam Johnstone and Marouane Fellaini could also be subject to a host of interested clubs both in the Premier League and in the Championships. The young keeper is said to be attracting a lot of interest from the English second tier while Young and Fellaini could be targetted by rival Premier League clubs and a few European clubs.

And number ten on the list is Bastian Schweinsteiger. The German international has failed to play a second of competitive football ever since Jose Mourinho took charge of the club and is reportedly close to agreeing a deal with Major League Soccer side Chicago Fire.

The 32-year-old was surprisingly back in the match-day squad when Manchester United took on West Ham in the Premier League last weekend but he didn't make it on to the field in his side's 1-1 draw against the Londoners.

This car-boot sale that Jose Mourinho is orchestrating is essential given he wants to bring in a host of players that he desires. Manchester United have been linked with the likes of Thiago Alcantara, Ivan Rakitic, Gareth Bale and Neymar along with a few strikers to replace Zlatan Ibrahimovic in Mauro Icardi, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Antoine Griezmann.

With this season not going the way fans expected, change could be one of the consequences - especially on the pitch. Mourinho is said to be extremely particular about the kind of players he works with and this is just the first move to ensure the same.
