Emmanuel Rivière is set to become Newcastle’s sixth capture of the summer

Newcastle United are on the verge of bolstering their squad further this summer, according to reports. They are set to complete the signings of Daryl Janmaat and Emmanuel Rivière from Feyenoord and Monaco respectively.

The two captures will represent the Magpies’ fifth and sixth signing of the summer after the Toon Army saw Ayoze Perez, Jack Colback, Siem de Jong and Remy Cabella also through the door at at St. James’ Park.

The club has however been coy regarding the announcement of the arrival of the duo. Daryl Janmaat is thought to have completed his £6m move to the North East of England on Tuesday after pictures of him holding the Newcastle shirt along with Alan Pardew leaked out on social media platform, Twitter.

However Pardew gave no confirmation of the deal, saying “That’s pretty close, but that’s about as good as I can say really at the moment.”

Meanwhile, Emmanuel Rivière was also photographed at St. James’ Park by a fan today. The 24 year old forward was at the stadium after reportedly clearing his medical ahead of a reported €8m move from the principality club.

According to local journalists, Newcastle are waiting on Arsenal to ratify the deal for Mathieu Debuchy before announcing the arrival of the duo.
