Liverpool boss Arne Slot has said that Ibrahima Konate and Conor Bradley are set to miss a few weeks due to injury following the 2-0 Premier League home win over Manchester City on Sunday (December 1).

Both men weren't in the Reds' matchday squad after picking up injuries in the 2-0 midweek win over holders Real Madrid in the UEFA Chamoions League. While Bradley was subbed off late on with a suspected injury, Konate injured his knee in stopapge time as victory came at a steep cost for Slot's side.

The Reds - playing without Bradley and Konate - coasted to a 2-0 home win over Manchester City to go nine points clear at the top. Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah (penalty) scored either side of the break. Following the win, Slot told the club's website that the injured duo are set to miss a few weeks of action:

"They will both be out for a few weeks. I have said many times before, it's always difficult to judge how many weeks this exactly is because you can think in the beginning it'll be like this, and then the end stage of an injury process can always differ a bit.
"They will not be in the team this week, for sure, both of them – and actually I don't think Kostas will be with us in the upcoming week as well."

The Reds next travel to Newcastle United in the league on Wednesday (December 4).

Slot's side have been near perfect in the Premier League, winning 11 of 13 games, as they seek their first league title in five years. Nevertheless, the Dutchman tried to temper expectations as he said (as per the BBC):

"It has been a good week, but let's not get carried away too much. You saw when Darwin Nunez come on he had an impact in the game.

"There is so many games that have to be played. We have more than 11 players who can have an impact with our results that's what you saw today. It is a team performance that helps us bring these results."

Before the Manchester City win, Liverpool beat Los Blancos to continue their perfect start to their Champions League campaign, winning all five games.
