Eden Hazard's former employers, Chelsea, reportedly banned a food van from selling the ex-Belgium international burgers during the player's initial days at Stamford Bridge.

Hazard decided to join the Blues from Lille on a £32 million deal, after which he spent seven years at the club. He appeared 352 times across all competitions, scoring 110 goals and providing 92 assists.

However, the Premier League side had to work extra hard to ensure Hazard remained in shape after he became a fan of a certain burger shop. According to The Sun, Chelsea told the owners of this van to stop selling to the 32-year-old.

The former Real Madrid star's love for burgers had been documented in the past. After storming off from a match for Belgium in 2011 and heading to a restaurant to grab a burger, the mayor of Middelkerke in northern Belgium said at the time (via The Sun):

"Actually, he is just a little fat man who has gotten fat by the system and the money."

Other football experts, such as Roy Keane, have also pointed out Hazard's fitness issues, particularly during his initial days at Real Madrid. He joined Los Blancos in 2019 from Chelsea for a fee of €115 million.

Regardless, the former footballer will now look to enjoy retirement after announcing his decision to draw the curtain on his professional career earlier this week.

West Ham United coach Kevin Nolan has wished for Eden Hazard to join the Hammers and believes that a reversal on the latter's retirement decision is on the cards.

Hazard announced his decision to hang his boots earlier this week on Instagram. After 622 first-team appearances for Real Madrid, Chelsea, and Lille, the former footballer managed to score 167 goals while assisting 157.

On the former Premier League forward, Nolan said (via Goal):

"I'd have the Eden Hazard of Chelsea at West Ham, yeah. 'm sure if he wanted to come and trial we'd, I mean, I'd certainly be willing to. I don't know about the gaffer [David Moyes]. But I'd certainly want to trial him!"

He added:

"I believe someone of his calibre of play could play at the top level for plenty more years. I wouldn't be surprised if we got a little bit of a reverse on that in the next six months to a year."

At Chelsea, Hazard won the Premier League and Europa League twice each while managing to get his hands on the FA Cup once. With Real Madrid, Hazard won La Liga twice and the UEFA Champions League once.
