Paul Parker has urged Chelsea not to sign Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United, arguing that he doesn't work hard like his idol, Cristiano Ronaldo, did. The former player believes the Blues' interest in the Argentine is merely a media rumor and that they are unlikely to pursue the move.
Speaking to Wettbasis, Parker opined that it would be a 'bad decision' for both Chelsea and Garnacho if the 20-year-old were to move to Stamford Bridge. The 61-year-old wants the United player to leave the Premier League. Parker said:
"Garnacho has to go. There is no way around it, because it's never going to work out at Manchester United. He doesn't have the mentality and he doesn't like to work hard. I don't think it is ever going to change. It's unbelievable because his big idol Cristiano Ronaldo was the complete opposite. He worked his a** off, so if Ronaldo really is his idol, I think he should look a bit more at him and do what he does."
He added:
"I don't think Chelsea was ever interested in him, to be completely honest, and I also think it would be a bad decision for both him and Chelsea if he went there. He needs a bit of fresh air, he needs a change in terms of environment, and I think he could benefit from moving to another country."
Alejandro Garnacho has been put up for sale at Manchester United after a fallout with Ruben Amorim. The manager reportedly told him that he has no future at the club after his comments in the media following the Red Devils' 1-0 Europa League final loss to Tottenham Hotspur.
Manchester United legend urges Chelsea to sign Cristiano Ronaldo for Club World Cup
Speaking to Gambling Industry News, Dwight Yorke urged Chelsea to sign Cristiano Ronaldo this summer. The former player believes the Al-Nassr superstar is better than all the options the Blues have to lead the attack. He said (via GOAL):
"Yeah, why would you not? He can still do it. With his ambition and ability, if Chelsea are playing the way that they can and creating for him, he's still an incredible forward. I see no reason not to. He's better than what Chelsea have currently got up front there."
"I can tell you that they're not the greatest team in that number nine position. So I could see why he's linked to that move. I don't see any reason why you wouldn't take a punt on it but it's just a no-brainer," he added.
The Blues signed Liam Delap this summer to compete with Nicolas Jackson for the starting #9 role. Cristiano Ronaldo has yet to sign a new deal at Al-Nassr, but has apparently said he is unlikely to feature in the Club World Cup.
