“Deserved a start”, “Pack your bags” – Arsenal fans convinced 2 players are set to leave after they don't start against Nottingham Forest

The Gunners play their last away game of the season against Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

Arsenal have announced their lineup to face Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Saturday (May 20), but fans are perplexed to see Kieran Tierney and Reiss Nelson not starting.

The Gunners play their last away game of the season at the City Ground with their title hopes all but over as Manchester City will be crowned champions on Sunday if they beat Chelsea.

Mikel Arteta's side are looking to recover from their embarrassing 3-0 home loss to Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend and end their season strongly by winning their two remaining games.

Ahead of their penultimate league game against the Tricky Trees, the Gunners have named a fairly competitive XI, but fans aren't happy to see Tierney and Nelson on the bench.

The Scotsman has largely played second-fiddle to Oleksandr Zinchenko this season but has impressed even in his bit-part role. Arsenal fans feel he should've started against Forest, but Arteta has opted to play Granit Xhaka at left-back.

Nelson, meanwhile, has missed large swathes of Arsenal's campaign through injuries, making only ten league appearances. He has still contributed five goals, which demonstrates his attacking efficiency.

Fans are convinced that both players are set to leave the club this summer, with one user asking Tierney to "pack his bags". Here are some of the best Twitter reactions:

Arsenal's Tierney and Nelson stand to benefit with move away

Arsenal's Keiran Tierney and Reiss Nelson seem to have no future at the Emirates, but it could be a blessing in disguise for both players.

Tierney has lost his starting position to Oleksandr Zinchenko this season, as most of his 25 appearances in the Premier League have come off the bench. However, at 25, he still has time to get his career back on track, and a move away from the Emirates could help him.

Nelson, meanwhile, is out of contract with the Gunners this summer and given his limited appearances, the club may not offer him a new contract despite reports to the contrart.

However, considering that he has scored thrice and assisted twice in ten league games, the 23-year-old has the talent to succeed with at a non top-six club.
