Liverpool are among a host of clubs who are keen on signing teenage goalkeeper Renato Marin from AS Roma, according to Tribal Football. The 18-year-old has not made his senior debut yet, but is rated very highly across Italy. Marin has only made eight appearances for Roma in Italy's youth football competition, Primavera 1, this season.
Marin has come through the ranks at Roma, and has even been capped for Italy thrice at the Under-19 level. Although he holds Brazilian citizenship as well, Marin has opted to represent Italy at the international level. His current contract with Roma comes to an end in the summer of 2025.
As a result, a host of clubs are in the market to sign him for free, with Liverpool being one of his admirers. Serie A clubs Juventus and Inter Milan too have kept an eye on Marin's progress and followed him closely. Olympic Marseille too are interested in the situation and will want to sign the goalkeeper.
Liverpool already have three goalkeepers in their ranks
Even if Liverpool decide to sign Marin, they will want to send him out on loan so that he can get some game time and develop his skills. At the moment, they have three goalkeepers in their squad - Alisson Becker, Caoimhin Kelleher and Vitezslav Jaros.
The Reds have been in fine fettle in the English Premier League this season, and showcased their good form in their come-from-behind 3-2 win against Southampton on Sunday, November 24. Liverpool are the leaders of the league table at the moment with 31 points in their kitty.
New manager Arne Slot has made a fine start to life in England, having won 10 out of 12 matches in the league so far. Liverpool's closest contenders are Manchester City, who seem to have fallen off the radar and are ranked second with 23 points to their name.
