Liverpool are reportedly interested in securing a deal for former Manchester City and current Bayern Munich star Leroy Sane.

The wide player has been in good form this season, having managed six goals in the Bundesliga from seven appearances. With Jurgen Klopp's interest looming in the background, Football Insider believes that the Bavarian club is looking to tie down Sane on a long-term deal.

As per the aforementioned report, Bayern Munich will offer the Germany international a new deal that will run until 2028. His current agreement in Munich expires in the summer of 2025.

The Reds' interest in the former Cityzens star is no surprise, as the fear of losing Mohamed Salah to Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad remains a possibility. Although the Merseysiders were able to fend off the Saudi Arabian threat in the summer, Salah could join the Jeddah-based side in January.

Sane would seem a reasonable replacement for the Egypt international. He spent four years with Manchester City in the Premier League after moving from Schalke in 2016 for a fee of £37 million. During his stay in England, the 27-year-old star scored 39 goals and provided 46 assists from 135 appearances across all competitions.

He decided to join Bayern Munich in the summer of 2020 on a £54.8 million deal, after which he's bagged 45 goals and assisted 37 for the Bundesliga outfit.

Pundit Don Hutchison believes West Ham United star Jarrod Bowen would be the perfect replacement for Mohamed Salah should the latter decide to exit Anfield in the near future.

Bowen has started the new Premier League season in fine fashion, bagging five goals and an assist from eight appearances. Last season, the England international scored 13 goals and assisted eight for the Hammers across all competitions.

Claiming Bowen to be the right fit for the Reds, Hutchison said (Rousing the Kop):

"I tell you what, this is a player Jarrod Bowen, where if Mo Salah ever moves on from Liverpool. Then I think, on the radar, this guy will be very high up."

Bowen has established himself as the first-choice right-wing option under David Moyes after joining West Ham from Hull City in January 2020 for €21 million. However, the 26-year-old recently signed a new deal with his current employers that will see him at the club till 2030.

Hence, a move to Liverpool seems unlikely unless an exorbitant offer comes in from Jurgen Klopp and Co.
