Fans of Shakira have trolled Barcelona icon Gerard Pique after he posted a selfie on his Instagram with his new partner Clara Chia Marti.
Pique, 36, and Clara Chia, 24, have been linked with one another since August 2022. The Spaniard had just come out of a relationship with Colombian pop star Shakira and the split was less than amicable.
The Barcelona legend went Instagram public with Clara Chia with a post of the pair in January. He has now uploaded a similar selfie of the new lovers with a simple caption of an orange love heart.
However, fans have taken digs at Gerard Pique in the comments of the post with most asserting that he is known as the singer's ex. One fan even claimed that the Spaniard's children were on the pop star's side of the breakup:
"Milan and Sasha are team Shakira."
Another fan responded by alluding to lyrics in the singer's diss track that compared Clara Chia to a Casio watch:
"Pique with his CASIO."
There were also a ton of Shakira gifs used by fans to show their allegiances to the Colombian. However, Pique's relationship with Clara Chia appears to be growing strong as the duo resides in Barcelona. Meanwhile, the pop star has left Catalonia and moved to Miami.
Shakira's lawyer claims the singer and Barcelona legend Gerard Pique are on good terms
Shakira's lawyer has claimed that the situation between the singer and Gerard Pique is now a good one. It comes after months of tension between the pair amid their breakup. The lawyer stated:
"I can only give a legal opinion. What she does, always does well, the children are preserved and the situation is now great. I don't have any news about (anything) wrong."
She added:
"Everything is fixed, everything is fine, he's going to visit the children, everything works. Now they can rest."
The singer has released a new song called 'Acrostic' which is an open letter to the former couple's two children. Milan, 10, and Sasha, 8, feature on the emotional song which is about a mother finding strength through her children.
It is a stark contrast to the diss track she released about Gerard Pique and Clara Chia earlier this year. That song broke Latin streaming records but the Barcelona great didn't seem too fond. He argued that such diss tracks don't take its targets mental health into account.
The former couple were together for 11 years after meeting at the 2010 FIFA World Cup. The pop star recorded the tournament's anthem: 'Waka Waka (This time for Africa).
