Peter Crouch highlighted Jadon Sancho's performance in Chelsea's 2-0 win over Heidenhem in the UEFA Europa Conference League by explaining that he shines when confident. The English winger grabbed two assists on the night (November 28).

Sancho joined the Blues on loan with an obligation to buy for a £25 million deal in the summer. He arrived from Manchester United after a nightmare spell at Old Trafford.

Crouch gave a glowing verdict of Sancho's outing against the German minnows. The former Liverpool striker told TNT Sports:

"He was involved in a lot. He’s got such quick feet, creativity. When he’s confident, he’s as good as anyone and seems to always pick the right pass. He’s getting up to speed, but when he’s fit and playing well, this is what he can do."

Sancho, 24, took his tally for the season to five assists in eight games across competitions, teeing up Christopher Nkunku (51') and Mykhailo Mudryk (86'). He's managed those five assists in six starts for Enzo Maresca's Chelsea.

The English attacker's professionalism was questioned throughout his United spell. He was banished from the Red Devils' first team last season after a falling out with former manager Erik ten Hag.

Maresca is getting the best out of Sancho, who is currently enjoying his football. He's competing with a plethora of attacking talent for a starting berth but has shown improvement after his disappointing Old Trafford stint.

Maresca was pleased with Sancho's performance against Heidenhem and spoke of the former Borussia Dortmund winger's importance. He told reporters after the game (via The Mirror):

"I said since we start, Jadon is very important for us. He has to be fit, mentally and physically and he is going to help us a lot. Unfortunately we did not use him in the last few games but he is showing tonight how important he is. We need that quality in the last third against a low block. He is going to help us a lot."

Sancho could be in contention to start for Chelsea in their encounter with Aston Villa in the league on Sunday (December 1). His last start before the game against Heidenhem was in a 2-1 loss against Liverpool (October 20), where he struggled.
