Official: Sevilla sign Paris Saint-Germain’s Gameiro

Paris Saint-Germain FC v SC Bastia - Ligue 1

Kevin Gameiro

FC Sevilla have agreed a €10.2 million (£8.8m) fee with PSG to complete the signing of French forward Kevin Gameiro on a five-year deal.

Gameiro will be presented this [Thursday] evening at 8:30pm Spanish time at the Sanchez Pizjuan, where fans can see him for the first time with the Sevilla shirt.

The French International, who has eight caps with the national team and moved from FC LOrient to PSG in 2011, scored 19 goals in 59 Ligue 1 appearances for the club. He secured the league title with PSG last season. He made 25 appearances last season.

However, his spot in the regular starting XI was threatened by the arrival of big names last year but he managed to make a sizeable number of appearances. But, the arrival of Edinson Cavani meant he was on his way out of the club and Sevilla have signed him as a potential replacement for Alvaro Negredo.

Sevilla coach Unai Emery said: “Gameiro has had an impressive career to date and the club are making a huge effort to tie up his signature. We are delighted with how our squad is shaping up.”
