After a stellar first-half performance, Paris Saint-Germain would become architects of their downfall in the second half.

Their drop in intensity gifted Manchester City a way back into the game and saw them ultimately bottle their one-goal lead.

Manchester City equalized in the most comedic manner after goalkeeper Keylor Navas mistimed the flight of Kevin De Bruyne’s cross.

The Citizens grabbed a second goal barely seven minutes later after a poorly set-up defensive wall allowed Riyad Mahrez to thread his free-kick into the back of the net.

This would go from back to worse for PSG as Senegalese defensive midfielder Idrissa Gueye received his marching orders in the 77th minute for a cynical challenge on German international Ilkay Gundogan.

With a man and a goal down, PSG failed to get into rhythm, allowing Manchester City to dictate the game from there on.

#2 Kevin De Bruyne shines again for Manchester City

Belgian international Kevin De Bruyne simply ran the show for Manchester City against the Ligue 1 champions. While the Cityzens were lethargic and struggled to find their footing in the first half, he was their most vivacious player.

He was constantly looking to create something out of nothing for the visitors and was almost successful when he threaded a neat ball into the path of Foden to have a go at goal.

Kevin De Bruyne really turned on the style in the second half. He drew Manchester City level with a cross that luckily went in after PSG shot-stopper Keylor Navas mistimed the flight of the ball. He has now scored three goals in his last three meetings with the Parisiens.

De Bruyne showed his quality at the center of the park, keeping play ticking the entire second half.

The Cityzens are now just two games away from their highly sought-after elusive European success.

Manchester City have already claimed the domestic League Cup title after a 1-0 win against Tottenham in the final at Wembley.

Pep Guardiola’s men are also seated at the top of the Premier League table and, considering their 10-point cushion on second-place Manchester United, it’s only a matter of time before they are crowned champions.

Pep Guardiola will know the magnitude of the treble and it's safe to say he would leave nothing to chance.
