Having scored 87 goals in 150 appearances for Borussia Dortmund, Gabonese striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has revealed that he received a host of interest from Europe's top clubs especially from Real Madrid, Manchester City and PSG. In a recent interview, the 27-year old has claimed about the interest of big clubs in him and also reiterated his desire to play for Spanish giants, Real Madrid.

Aubameyang said that his performances made PSG contact his agent regularly over the past two years. He said, “At the end of my first season in the Bundesliga, there has been contact. The next summer too. In fact, almost every year there have been contacts.” Unai Emery was reportedly interested in signing Aubameyang to replace the free agent Zlatan Ibrahimovic at the French club.

Pep Guardiola also was rumoured to be interested in the player that caused some damage to him during his time with Bayern Munich but Dortmund were not ready to let him leave. On City's interest, Aubameyang said, “Yes, it’s true. There have been discussions. My father spoke with the club, but nothing in the final concrete.” Dortmund were desperate in holding off to him for another year after losing Mats Hummels and Henrikh Mkhitaryan this summer.

Real Madrid rumours started when in an interview with ZDF, the Gabon international spoke his heart out and revealed that his grandfather wanted him to play in Spain and that Aubameyang promised him that he will play for Real in his career. He said, “I think there was an interest. But it was not further. I was asked in an interview: What is the club of your dreams? I replied: The Real is my heart club and I made a promise to my grandfather to play there one day, I hope it will happen. Here, it’s just a goal, I still have time.”

Aubameyang continued on his future in an interview Onze Mondial magazine, “But I did not do that to pique the interest of the club and try to attract them. I do not need to do that now. If they want me, they will come, if they don’t, too bad. Now I know that there has been contact.” Aubameyang scored 25 goals last campaign and fell just five short of claiming the golden boot from Robert Lewandowski.
