The Premier League is undoubtedly one of the toughest leagues in the world. And while scoring in this very physical competition is hard enough, creating chances or providing assists for others can be even harder.

Young players such as Paul Pogba and Raheem Sterling are now emerging as the Premier League’s assist kings. Meanwhile, some of the older pass-masters such as Mesut Ozil and David Silva have surprisingly contributed less than 5 assists for their respective team this season.

Here, we take take a look at 4 players who have got the most assists in the league so far.

Christian Eriksen (9 assists)

Christian Eriksen became an instant hit when he joined the Spurs in 2013. He started regularly and netted 7 goals in his debut season.

Having come in at a cost of just 12 million euros from Ajax, Eriksen is now worth every penny for the Spurs. Many regard him as one of the league’s best playmakers.

Eriksen’s charming presence has played a vital role for the Spurs this season. He has contributed 5 goals and provided 9 assists for his team in 23 Premier League appearances.

Unfortunately for the Lillywhites though, the Dane is now putting many European giants on alert as his contract nears its end.

Ryan Fraser (9 assists)

Ryan Fraser is perhaps the most surprising name to feature in the Premier League’s top assists list this season. At just 24 years of age, Fraser is one of the hottest talents in the league who often goes under the radar.

The Scottish player is now a regular under Eddie Howe's Bournemouth, scoring 5 goals and contributing 9 assists in 26 league appearances.

Raheem Sterling (9 assists)

Raheem Sterling has been in sensational form in the last 2 Premier League seasons. He is now becoming a major driving force in Manchester City’s deadly attacks, regularly contributing goals and assists for his teammates.

The Englishman recently got a new contract from his club, reportedly worth up to £300,000 a week. This huge contract, however, seems worth every penny for City because Sterling has already scored 12 goals and provided 9 assists to his teammates in 24 league appearances.

#1 Eden Hazard (10 assists)

This season, Eden Hazard is almost playing like the Messi of the Premier League. Apart from his well-known goalscoring abilities, the 28-year-old is also an excellent playmaker who provides many chances for his teammates.

The ex-Lille man has been able to net 12 goals and contribute 10 assists from his 25 league appearances.

It is no secret that Chelsea are now becoming too dependent on the Belgian because of his impressive form over the years. The Blues are currently struggling under Maurizio Sarri, while Hazard continues to shine.

If Chelsea fail to turn this situation around, it will be tough for them to prevent Real Madrid from taking away their prized player.
