Liverpool have been relentless as well as resilient!

Talking of goals, well, Liverpool have proved to be the most prolific in Europe's top five leagues behind only rivals Manchester City, who've struck a staggering 62 times in the league already.

However, the Reds still trump Pep Guardiola's swashbuckling side on goal-difference, courtesy of a meaner defensive record.

They have conceded only 14 times in 23 games - the joint second-least in the top five leagues, and the goal-difference currently stands at +38, marginally trumping City who come second with +37.

Paris Saint-Germain are the only other side with a goal-difference of over 35.

So, Liverpool are not only free-scoring, but also stout at the back. They've kept nine cleansheets so far, including one in each of the last seven games!

In fact, Everton have been the only side so far to have scored more than once against this stoic Reds team in the league this season. Let that sink in first.

Liverpool haven't traditionally had issues with goals, but the defense has looked more obdurate than it ever has. Last season they conceded only 22 times, and may well leak fewer goals this time around on this evidence.
