We have another former Atletico Madrid player in our countdown to the fastest player to reach 50 goals with a club, in Fernando Torres at number 4 in our list.

Former Chelsea and Liverpool striker, Torres was arguably one of the most lethal finishers in the game during the initial days of his spell with the Reds, becoming the first Liverpool player since Robbie Fowler in the 1995–96 season to score 20 league goals in a season, in the 2007-08 campaign.

He scored 24 goals in his debut season but, after that, it took him another one and a half years to score another 26 times, as he reached his half-century of goals 72 matches after making his PL debut.

He never got back to the heights of his debut PL season and was only able to find the back of the net on 15 occasions in his final 30 outings for the Merseyside club, leaving Anfield with 65 goals to his name in 102 appearances.

Though he struggled on the club level, he was always a reliable player for his nation and helped Spain lift EURO 2008, World Cup 2010 and EURO 2012 trophies in succession by his goals.
