Pochettino hopes Eriksen signs a new deal

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has revealed his hopes of seeing Christian Eriksen sign an extension with the Lilywhites. The Dane has a contract offer from the London outfit but he is apparently in no hurry to sign a new deal.

As a result, the former Espanyol and Southampton manager stated that while he is not the one directly involved in this – which means he doesn’t suffer much – he hopes that the midfielder agrees to sign a new deal because he is a very important player for the Lilywhites.

"I am not a person that suffers too much in this type of situation," Pochettino told reporters.

"Football is dynamic, Christian Eriksen is so important for Tottenham. You would like to have this type of player with you. It's a negotiation, it will be fantastic if he will commit to the club."
