#5 Graham Hunter thinks United will sign Eder Militao

Manchester United have been linked with a plethora of defenders over the last few months. However, despite all that, the Red Devils failed to sign a single centre-back in the last summer window but might finally get one if Graham Hunter is to be believed.

According to him, Manchester United are very impressed with Eder Militao due to his speed and physicality. He also added that should the Old Trafford outfit not sign him in this window, they will try to acquire him in the summer.

“They like his speed, they like the simplicity of his game, they like his physique and it seems clear that he won’t be much longer at Porto," Hunter said.

“If it doesn’t happen in this window, I would expect it to happen in the summer for sure barring a very bad injury on the part of the player.”

Hunter then went on to state that while Porto were the ones who brought him from Brazil, scouts from top clubs are still looking at him and have been impressed with how he has adapted to European football – especially in the Champions League.

“He’s a player who’s been scouted by top clubs in Europe last summer, but Porto had been prepared to take him out of Sao Paolo and obviously the top clubs have continued to scout him.

“They’re now watching him play Champions League players and play for Porto at the top of the Portuguese League.

“And they like even more what they see now he’s in Europe, he’s taken that step, he’s entered that adaptation process which can be quite difficult for South Americans.”

Arsenal head of recruitment Sven Mislintat is set to leave the Gunners after the end of this month. He was brought in by the Gunners just over a year ago and was the brains behind the deals to bring Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

He also played a part in bringing the likes of Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi to the Emirates. His work at Borussia Dortmund earned him the nickname of ‘Diamond Eye’.

But now, he is going to leave the London outfit and stated that he gained a lot of experience from Arsenal while also adding that he is excited about the future.

He said: "It's been an amazing experience to work at a great club like Arsenal in what has been a big time of change. I am excited about what the future holds for the club and am looking forward to new challenges for myself."

The Londoners seem to be the most active club in the transfer market as they have been linked with some players. Not only that, some of their own players are set to quit the Stamford Bridge and Alvaro Morata might just be the second one after Cesc Fabregas.

The Spain striker is close to sealing a move back to Madrid – however, this time, he will join Atletico Madrid on a loan deal. According to Sky, the deal could be announced on late on Monday with the player’s family already in Madrid.

Meanwhile, Morata might not be the last Chelsea player to leave the Stamford Bridge as according to Sky Sports, Callum Hudson-Odoi is set to reject a new contract worth £85,000-per-week from the Blues.

Hudson-Odoi has set his eyes on a move to Bundesliga with Bayern Munich already making four bids for him – all of which were rejected by the Blues.

Arsenal manager Unai Emery revealed a few days ago that the Gunners can only sign players on loan deals in this market. It gave one an idea as to what the Londoners are looking for in the market.

And now, Independent claim that the Londoners are trying to bring James Rodriguez to the Emirates on a loan deal. The Colombian is at Bayern Munich on a loan deal and will be back at the Bernabeu at the end of the season with the Galacticos desperate to sell him.

Meanwhile, Newcastle youngster Elias Sorensen has completed a loan move to Blackpool, following the footsteps of Sean Longstaff, who did the same last season.

“I’m excited to see what it brings. Hopefully, I can get a few games in League One and show what I’m capable of,” Sorensen was quoted as saying.

Former Arsenal star Paul Merson has hailed Toby Alderweireld and Kalidou Koulibaly as two of the best center-backs in the world alongside PSG star Thiago Silva while also adding that Manchester United should try to sign them.

“Toby Alderweireld and Kalidou Koulibaly are two players United should be targeting. Those two are the best two centre-backs in the world, along with Thiago Silva,” he said.

Meanwhile, Barcelona are targeting a move for Chelsea forward Olivier Giroud. According to Diario Gol, Lionel Messi not keen to have him because it would increase the power of the French contingent at Barcelona but Abidal is a fan of the player and is pursuing a move for him regardless of what Messi thinks.
