#5 David Moyes to make ‘em moves

The story of David Moyes is the perfect epitome of why one should never get out of their comfort zone. Seriously. The Scot was a revered figure while at Everton for his ability to bring the club to stability and did it while playing some decent football.

However, ever since he succeeded Sir Alex Ferguson at United, things have gone downhill for him and he now finds himself at West Ham United. After only joining the club, he is yet to sign a player and wants to make Alfie Mawson one of his first signings, reports The Guardian.

The 23-year-old Swans player has 18 months left on his contract and the Liberty Stadium outfit are trying their best to tie him to the club. However, the Hammers are weighing a £20 million bid for the England U21 international as Moyes hopes to bolster his defence in January.

#4 The burning of woods in Sunderland

Wales Training Session
Woodburn is a sensational talent

Erm, yeah, I just did that. January window is basically trying to correct the screw-ups done in the summer. For the mid-table clubs, the basic way to do that is bringing supposedly talented players on loan from the bigger clubs.

And this is exactly what Sunderland are trying to do according to Liverpool Echo as the Wearside outfit are interested in bringing Ben Woodburn on loan from Liverpool.

While there are a host of clubs interested to bring the 18-year-old on loan, Sunderland seem to have the advantage as the coach of the team is someone who gave Woodburn his Wales debut: Chris Coleman. Klopp also wants the talented youngster to go on loan and garner experience from playing first-team football—something which he can get at the Stadium of Light.

A win-win-win for everyone it seems.

#3 Big Sam wants big man

Crystal Palace v Watford - Premier League
James Tomkins has worked with Allardyce

Yes, well, this makes sense, just read on, please. Former England manager, Sam Allardyce wants a towering defender to bolster his defence and has targeted Crystal Palace defender, James Tomkins. The 1.91m defender has previously worked with Sam Allardyce during his time at West Ham.

And now, the manager once again wants to reunite with the 28-year-old in order to make Everton a better defensive unit.

All of this is according to The Sun, who also believe that the defender will cost somewhere around £20 million. Given that Everton have the cash necessary to make such a deal—they paid nearly £50 million for Gylfi Sigurdsson—seeing him in the Blue shirt might not be beyond reality after all.

#2 Rafa revolution

Chelsea v Norwich City - Premier League
Rafa wants Kenedy

There are two rumours regarding Newcastle United so I will start with the one where they are reportedly going to lose a player. According to the folks at Daily Mail, West Brom have joined the race with West Ham for the signature of Aleksander Mitrovic, who is out of favour with Rafa Benitez.

The Spaniard is open to the idea of selling him and West Brom are interested, but the Mail haven’t quoted any price.

And now for the acquisitions. Newcastle are on the lookout for a forward and have identified Chelsea’s talented youngster, Kenedy, to boost their squad. This rumour also comes from the Daily Mail, who believe that the volatile left-sided youngster is on his way to the St. James Park on loan.

#1 The others

Villarreal v Barcelona - La Liga
Busquets to reunite with Guardiola?

And now for what you have been waiting for. At first, let’s talk about Arsenal. It seems as though the Gunners just love to loot youngsters from Barcelona as they want to sign youngster Jose Arnaiz, according to Marca. The fee quoted by the Spanish outlet is somewhere around £3 million.

Next up are the Manchester clubs. Apparently, according to Manchester Evening News, the Red Devils are looking at Bordeaux’s Brazilian winger, Malcolm, who has been in good form this season. And then there is the report from M.E.N that suggests that Jose Mourinho is ready to loot the duo of Christian Pulisic and Julian Weigl from Borussia Dortmund.

Speaking of Julian Weigl, Pep Guardiola is looking out for a defensive midfielder in the mould of Sergio Busquets and has identified the Borussia Dortmund star as a suitable signing. The Telegraph say that City will rival their rivals, United, for his signing.

And finally, according to Daily Star’s Jeremy Cross, City are also looking at Sergio Busquets because, you know, he could actually be a midfielder in the Sergio Busquets mould that Guardiola seems to be seeking?

No prices were quotes, but we can all safely assume that they would be astronomical.
