Since then, Wayne Rooney has left no milestone to be achieved during his Manchester United career. Wayne Rooney is the fifth highest paid footballer in the world.

2 . Edin Dzeko

Player Bio – Remarked as player with a lot of strengths but no significant weakness , Edin Dzeko is undoubtedly the greatest asset of Bosnian football. Nicknamed as the Bosanski dijamant (Bosnian Diamond), he made a name for himself with the years he spent with Wolfsburg. Edin Dzeko gained popularity for his single handed performances with Wolfsburg F.C in the 2008-09 season, wherein he scored 36 goals and was awarded the Bundesliga player of the season .

Dzeko finished at the 9th position for Ballon d’Or award in 2009, which was won by Cristiano Ronaldo. In January 2010, Dzeko was bought by Manchester City for 27 million, and signed a contract with an annual salary of 7.5 million, thus making him the second highest paid striker in Premier League .

3. Sergio Aguero

Player Bio – He was once more popularly known as the son-in-law of the legend Diego Maradonna. But today, the Argentine forward has made enough name for himself. Known to have a killer instinct and the necessary tricks, he started his footballing career with Atlético Independiente and then moved to Atletico Madrid.

The departure of Fernando torres to Liverpool saw Aguero get the vacant spot. Aguero’s terrific goalscoring form even after playing as a supporting striker saw him earn a spot for the Argentina squad for the 2010 Fifa World cup. After the 2011 Copa America , Aguero was bought by City for a fee believed to be in the region of 30-35 Million.

4. Fernando Torres

Player Bio – Torres, also known as El Nino, has been an outstanding player throughout his career. Torres started his career with his childhood favorite club, Atletico Madrid. Eyeball grabbing performances saw him transferred to Liverpool F.C, bought by the then manager Rafa Benitez. Torres is described as a striker who is “quick, strong, impressive in the air, blessed with expert technique and is cool and collected in front of goal”.

Torres later got transferred to Chelsea for a record fee of 50 Million. After his terrible time at the Bridge, we recently saw glimpses of Torres at his best. In 2009, it was reported that Torres has a personal fortune of £14 million, which made him one of the richest strikers.

5 . Mario Balotelli

Player Bio – If his lack of discipline is kept aside, I can assure you that you will witness some dazzling football from the Italian. Balotelli started playing football with Inter Milan under then manager, Jose Mourinho. At the beginning of the 2010 season, Mario was purchased by Manchester City for 20 million .

Since then Mario Balotelli has impressed us often with his captivating style of football. He is good in the air, cuts inside a lot and can dribble very well too.
