QPR set to make moves for Santa Cruz, Kolo Toure and Bridge

Former City manager Mark Hughes is preparing fast-forward bids to acquire the services of Manchester City stars Roque Santa Cruz, Kolo Toure and Wayne Bridge. Hughes worked with the trio at Eastlands and was the one who bought them from their previous teams. Since his replacement by Roberto Mancini, they have failed to establish them as City regulars and are far away from doing that as well.

Santa Cruz worked with the former Manchester United player at Blackburn Rovers as well. Both of them suit each other, and Hughes has often gone public to express his desire for the Paraguayan’s services. Santa Cruz played more then 30 games for Betis this season and was instrumental in ensuring that they didn’t get relegated. It is believed that Hughes will face competition with Betis and Fulham for whom Manchester United could also join in the race.

Kolo Toure, the former city captain is frustrated due to minimal chances. The Ivorian hasn’t played much since returning from his ban last September. Kolo Toure could reunite with the former City manager, who made him the captain of Manchester City. Kolo Toure could also be handed the armband with an immediate effect because Joey Barton recently claimed that he doesn’t deserve to be the captain of QPR.

Wayne Bridge left Chelsea when his career was on a high after a dispute with Chelsea captain John Terry. Bridge usually operates as a left back and is third choice after Gael Clichy and Kolarov. Manchester City are likely to offload him.

It is assumed that the three player would be available at a combined sum of 37 million.
