Radamel Falcao isn't leaving Atlético Madrid for now

Radamel Falcao of Atletico Madrid celebrates with Coach Diego Simeone at the end of the UEFA Europa League Final between Atletico Madrid and Athletic Bilbao at the National Arena on May 9, 2012 in Bucharest, Romania.

Spanish newspaper MARCA issued a news yesterday revealing the conversation between Portuguese football agent Jorge Mendes and Former Atlético de Madrid player, Paulo Futre.

In the conversation Mendes reassured Futre and Atlético fans that Radamel Falcao won’t be leaving in any time soon.

“Jorginho! How’re you doing brother? Tell me just one thing. Is it true that Falcao could be leaving Atlético de Madrid in the January transfer window?” Futre asked in a telephone conversation.

The agent replied: “You’re mad Paulo, they’re just rumors Radamel isn’t leaving Atlético. It’d be impossible for him to leave in January. Look, I’m eating dinner with him here in my house. Say hi to him, he’s one of your biggest admirers”.

Futre told the paper: “That telephone call with my good friend Jorge Mendes, the Colombian striker’s agent, and ‘el Tigre’ took place last Friday. It reassured me, as some of the most talked about things in and around Atlético are Falcao’s possible departure and whether or not the club is already looking for his replacement.”

Falcao had been recently linked with a move away from the Vicente Calderón with Chelsea being the favorites to sign the Colombian.
