Sevilla Player Ratings against Real Madrid

Yassine Bounou - 6/10

The usually reliable Bounou uncharacteristically let Real Madrid's Asensio get the better of him with a near post-strike. However, the Sevilla custodian made some great saves from inside the box to keep his team in the game.

Marcos Acuna - 6/10

It was a good defensive shift from Marcos Acuna, but he was surprisingly poor for Sevilla in Real Madrid's half, completing just one cross in eight attempts. The Argentine's overlapping runs were dealt rather well by Odriozola.

Diego Carlos - 7/10

Diego Carlos was left rather untested in the game, as Benzema preferred targeting Kounde instead. Carlos, though, made seven clearances and won all of his aerial duels. The Sevilla centre-back was also neat with his passing.

Jules Kounde - 6/10

Not one of Jules Kounde's best outings, as Benzema got the better of him on a few occasions. The 22-year-old was tested by the veteran striker, but Kounde stood his ground, winning 100% of his aerial duels.

Jesus Navas - 6/10

A player who often performs well against Real Madrid, Jesus Navas had a rather underwhelming game against Marcelo and Vinicius. The Sevilla captain completed two of his three crosses but was not at this best defensively.

Joan Jordan - 7/10

It was a decent outing for Joan Jordan against a world-class Real Madrid midfield. The former Eibar midfielder gave the likes of Casemiro and Kroos a tough time with his movement and close control. He also completed a whopping seven duels out of nine in the game.

Fernando - 7/10

At 33, Fernando is still a massive figure for Sevilla in midfield. Lopetegui has been heavily reliant on the Brazilian, who delivered yet again for his side, this time by being on the scoresheet with a lovely finish to beat Real Madrid custodian Courtois.

Ivan Rakitic - 7/10

Ivan Rakitic's 77th-minute strike from the spot made sure Real Madrid didn't take home all three points on the night. The Croatian has now scored five league goals in 19 games against Real Madrid.

Alejandro Gomez - 6/10

After playing as a central midfielder against Athletic Bilbao last week, Papu Gomez occupied a more forward position against Real Madrid. The former Atalanta creator had pretty much a free role but was not at his very best for Sevilla and had to be substituted minutes after the second half began.

Lucas Ocampos - 5/10

After having a 15-goal season in 19-20, Lucas Ocampos has struggled to score this term. The Argentine has been a liability for Sevilla in the past few games, and things were no different against Real Madrid. He won none of his three attempted dribbles, won just one of his seven duels and was one of the most underwhelming players on the pitch.

Suso - 7/10

The former AC Milan winger was once again Sevilla's brightest spark, as he often troubled Real Madrid down the right flank with his silky touches, effective feints and accurate passes. Marcelo had a tough time dealing with the 27-year-old, as Suso completed five dribbles, two long balls and eight duels on the night.

Ratings of Sevilla substitutes against Real Madrid:

Youssef En-Nesyri - 5/10

The Morrocan international replaced Gomez in the second half but barely made an impact. The 23-year-old had just ten touches in 34 minutes of action.

Luuk de Jong, Oliver Torres, Oscar Rodriguez and Nemanja Gudelj - N/A

The quartet was brought on after the 85th-minute mark and did not play enough to warrant a rating on the night.
