Zidane is eager to complete the signing in the January transfer window

What's the story?

Real Madrid have had a difficult start to the 2017/18 season, but manager Zidane is already planning on strengthening the squad with a spectacular move for PSG winger Julian Draxler lined up for January. The German sensation has seen himself being relegated to the background after the signings of Neymar and Mbappe and reports in Daily Star claim that Los Blancos are confident of agreeing a deal in the region of £55 million for the talented forward.

A key to Real Madrid's successful 2016/17 campaign was having sufficient quality and squad depth. After the departure of Morata and James Rodriguez, Zidane is determined to strengthen the forward line and sees the 24-year-old as an ideal addition to his squad.

Julian Draxler is one of the most talented German footballers at the moment

With the likes of Neymar, Mbappe, Angel Di Maria and Lucas Moura in the PSG squad, opportunities are understandably hard to come by for the talented German international. Draxler was heavily linked with a move to the Premier League, but with Gareth Bale having started the season in indifferent form, Los Blancos are looking to go all out in January and sign the 24-year-old for a fee of close to £55 million.

After having arrived in Paris only last January, Draxler has shown glimpses of his class although he has struggled to ail down a regular starting position in PSG's star-studded squad.

Capable of playing through the wings and as an attacking midfielder, Draxler could prove to be an ideal replacement for James Rodriguez. Quick, skilled, two-footed and capable of unleashing powerful shots from outside the box. Draxler showed his immense potential in Germany's successful Confederations Cup triumph.

With targets like Eden Hazard difficult to sign in January, Draxler could be an ideal solution for Zidane and his pace and skills could definitely inspire Real Madrid to a strong challenge both in the League and the Champions League this season.
