Werner set to join Munich?

What's the story?

According to German media outlet, Bild, Bayern Munich have already agreed on a deal to sign Timo Werner and Lucas Hernandez this season. Both these talented players will join the Bavarians in the summer.

In case you didn't know..

Two years ago, Timo Werner broke into the scene of European football scoring 21 goals in 31 Bundesliga appearances. His exploits were one of the pivotal reason for RB Leipzig's shocking second place finish in the German League.

Known for his quick feet and an eye for goal, Werner can dribble past opponents with relative ease and function as a winger at times. For his age, his maturity on the ball is extremely rare and is one of the reasons why he featured in the World Cup with Germany.

Since his breakthrough season with the club, the 22-year-old German International has scored 13 and 11 goals in the Bundesliga in the following two seasons. The German striker's contract runs out in 2020

On the other hand, Lucas Hernandez is known for blocking out opponent attackers in the left flank. There is no doubt that the Spanish left-back has played a pivotal role in Atletico Madrid's success in recent seasons.

The heart of the matter

It is no secret that RB Leipzig youngster Timo Werner has long been on the radar of Bundesliga giants. Despite facing tough competition from Liverpool to secure the services of the talented striker, Bayern Munich have all but sealed the deal to secure the youngster.

Meanwhile, they have also signed a contract agreement with Atletico Madrid defender Lucas Hernandez, which was Bayern's target for some months.

According to the report, the Bundesliga giants have already been in talks and agreed terms with the players' agents and the players will join the Bavarians in the summer.

What's next?

Bayern Munich will focus on Bundesliga as they face Borussia Mönchengladbach and Wolfsburg before turning their sights towards Liverpool in the knockout rounds of UEFA Champions League in the coming days.
