4. Andy Carroll – Newcastle United to Liverpool, £35 million

Carroll was Newcastle’s most consistent performer, but he wanted to move to a bigger club, so he moved to Liverpool in January 2011.

He made 44 appearances for the Mersyside outfit in the Premier League but scored a disappointing total of 6 goals.

He did not even last two seasons at Liverpool. In August 2012, he was loaned to West Ham United where he then signed a permanent deal this summer.
