Barcelona boss Hansi Flick is reportedly ready to give up on Rafael Leao and Erling Haaland's signings to bring in Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala. The 21-year-old has risen to become one of the most important midfielders for the Bavarian giants.

Over the last few months, Barcelona have often been linked to AC Milan ace Rafael Leao and Manchester City superstar Erling Haaland as potential transfer targets. With Robert Lewandowski on the wrong side of his thirties, the Catalan giants require a solid striker.

Haaland is unsurprisingly viewed as an ideal replacement as he has risen to become one of the best strikers of today. The Norwegian superstar has contributed 108 goals and 15 assists in 121 outings for Manchester City across competitions.

On the other hand, Rafael Leao could be a great solution for Barcelona to strengthen their left wing. They are reportedly keen on securing the services of Rafael Leao for the left, especially with only Raphinha covering the position this season. Leao has contributed 64 goals and 56 assists in 231 outings across competitions for AC Milan.

However, new reports from Spanish outlet El Nacional suggest that Barcelona boss Hansi Flick is ready to give up on signing both Leao and Haaland. The German tactician is reportedly keen on signing Bayern Munich midfielder Jamal Musiala instead. He has reportedly informed the sporting team to prioritize Musiala's potential arrival over the likes of both Haaland and Leao.

Musiala was notably given his debut for the Bayern Munich first team in August 2020 by Hansi Flick. Under Flick, the 21-year-old made 38 appearances for Bayern, contributing seven goals and one assist. Moreover, Flick also worked with the youngster while coaching the German national team (2021-23).

The aforementioned report suggests that Hansi Flick considers Jamal Musiala an ideal signing for the current Blaugrana squad, brimming with several young talents.

Musiala's versatile ability to play both in the midfield and on the wing has particularly impressed Flick. The coach believes he could blend well with the likes of Lamine Yamal, Gavi, and Pedri.

In an interview with Sport BILD, Bayern Munich prodigy Jamal Musiala opened up on his love for Barcelona. He also declared Blaugrana legend Lionel Messi as his hero and said (via GOAL):

"FC Barcelona was my favorite team and because of that, they were always my reference. The midfield with Xavi, Iniesta, and Busquets fascinated me. I could watch their games over and over again. On the back of my shirts as a kid, the name was almost always Messi. I also had one with Neymar, but Messi was my hero, my favorite player."

Given Musiala's childhood love for La Azulgrana, a future transfer may not seem unlikely. However, due to the Catalans' difficult financial situation, they may have to let go of key players to pull off Musiala's potential signing.

Moreover, according to El Nacional's aforementioned report, Bayern Munich are not keen on letting Musiala leave. The Bavarian giants could reportedly value the midfielder at over €100 million. The Germany international's current contract with Bayern runs until June 2026.
