According to Spanish news outlet Jijantes, Barcelona have held talks with Manchester City target Dani Olmo's father and agents.
Since joining RB Leipzig in 2020 from Dinamo Zagreb, Olma has been a key player for the Bundesliga outfit. Olmo has so far scored 29 goals and has provided 34 assists in 145 appearances for the German club. This season, the attacking midfielder has scored eight goals and has laid out five assists in 22 appearances.
Olmo is a product of Barca's famed La Masia academy. He joined La Blaugrana's setup at the age of seven before leaving them at 14.
Barcelona's interest in the midfielder dates back as far as 2021. The La Liga outfit, though, could face stern competition from the likes of Manchester City, Atletico Madrid, and Chelsea for the player's signature.
Olmo's father and agents reportedly met with City's representatives last week. As per Jijantes, Deco and other Barca officials have now also met with Olono's entourage.
The player is contracted with Leipzig until the end of the 2026-27 season. However, as per SPORT, Olmo has a release clause of €60 million in his contract. It makes the 33-time Spain international a sought-after talent among top European clubs.

According to SPORT, Barcelona's meeting with Dani Olmo's father was not regarding a transfer for the Spain international. Instead, it was about the future of Senegalese defensive prodigy Mikayil Faye.
Olmo's father, Miquel Olmo, is the sporting director of Niagara Sports, the company that represents Faye. The 19-year-old defender has attracted the interest of top European clubs like Chelsea and Manchester United in recent times.
Faye is yet to make his senior debut for Azulgrana and reports suggest that he could contemplate a move away to secure regular first-team football and continue his growth. Barca, though, reportedly rate the youngster's talent highly and Faye's future remains uncertain.
