Turkish outfit Galatasaray are reportedly turning their attentions to signing Arsenal midfielder Jorginho after failing to complete a deal for Manchester United's Casemiro. The Red Devils star was seemingly offered the chance to leave Old Trafford on a season-long loan.
However, he's decided against the same and remains with Erik ten Hag's side to fight for his place. As a result, the Super Lig outfit are looking to complete a deep-lying midfield signing before the end of the transfer window in Turkey, which shuts on September 13.
Jorginho is expected to play a squad role at the Emirates this season, with Thomas Partey and Declan Rice the players to have started in the middle of the park. Moreover, the arrival of Spain international Mikel Merino means that the Italian could see fewer minutes.
However, the former Chelsea star, who has a year left on his deal, is said to be valued in north London. The Sun claims that the Gunners will reject any approaches for the 32-year-old (via Metro).
The need for a player of Jorginho's caliber has already cropped up in the 2024/25 campaign. With Rice suspended for the upcoming North London derby on Sunday (September 15), it is likely that the ex-Napoli man will start at the base of the midfield for Arsenal.
Whenever thrown onto the pitch in the previous campaign, Jorginho proved that he could do a job in the position. Overall, he's made 52 appearances across competitions for the Gunners, bagging a goal and three assists after joining the club in January 2023.
Ex-PSG midfielder offered himself to Arsenal, amid Manchester United interest - Reports

Former Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) midfielder Adrien Rabiot reportedly offered himself to Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur after his contract at the Parc des Princes expired. This is according to TBR Football, who claim that the Frenchman's high wage demands have driven away the aforementioned Premier League sides (via PSG Talk).
However, the report clarifies that Manchester United still remain interested in signing Rabiot despite the arrival of Manuel Ugarte. This would mean increased competition for Casemiro, whose season hasn't gotten off to the best of starts.
Rabiot is an experienced head who has made 227 appearances across competitions for PSG, bagging 24 goals and 14 assists. He can play as a number six but mostly operates in a box-to-box role.
A move to Manchester United would earn him the chance to compete in the Premier League, arguably the biggest league in the world.
