Gundogan enjoyed seven successful years in his first stint at Manchester City after joining the club from Borussia Dortmund in 2016. The German midfielder was an integral player in the Cityzens' success under Pep Guardiola.

He won five Premier Leagues, the Champions League, two FA Cups, and four Carabao Cups until his departure in 2023. Gundogan left the Etihad on a free transfer and joined Barcelona that summer.

He was signed on a three-year deal by the Blaugrana. However, after just one full season, the Germany international decided to leave Barcelona, which club president Joan Laporta later claimed was a 'sporting decision'.

The Spaniard claimed that the signing of Dani Olmo led Gundogan to make the decision since they occupy similar roles. The midfielder then returned to Manchester City on a free transfer.

Galatasaray have now registered an interest in signing Gundogan and are plotting a summer move, according to ESPN. The outlet reports that the Turkish giants are aware that a transfer in January would be unlikely, given Gundogan's importance in Pep Guardiola's side this season.

However, with his contract expiring in June, Galatasaray are more hopeful of enticing him in the summer.

Kevin De Bruyne responds when asked about Manchester City future

Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne has offered a nonchalant response when asked about his future at the Etihad. The Belgian insists that he's merely focused on returning to his best.

De Bruyne has struggled to remain fit with a hamstring injury causing him problems. He missed 35 games for club and country last season and ten games for Manchester City this term due to his hamstring issues.

The Belgium international's contract with the club is set to expire in June, causing speculation over his future at the Etihad. When asked about the matter, De Bruyne said (via GOAL):

"I don't care. I'm just trying to get back to my level. I feel every week I'm getting better. I can play for 90 minutes now. It's been an uncomfortable couple of months with the injury."

De Bruyne has made 18 appearances across competitions so far this season, scoring two goals and providing three assists.
