Veteran Liverpool trio set to follow Jurgen Klopp out of Anfield this summer: Reports

Atalanta v Liverpool FC: Quarter-Final Second Leg - UEFA Europa League 2023/24
Three of Jurgen Klopp's signings are set to also depart this summer.

Liverpool trio Thiago Alcantara, Joel Matip, and Adrian are reportedly headed for the Anfield exit door as the club begins their post-Jurgen Klopp era.

Football Insider (via TEAMTalk) reports that the veteran trio won't be offered new deals. All three players' current deals expire this summer and none have had a significant impact this season.

Thiago, 33, has made just one appearance for Liverpool this season due to hip and muscular injuries. The Spanish playmaker has endured a torrid time and it appears the Reds have grown impatient with his fitness issues.

The former Bayern Munich midfielder has been linked with a return to La Liga giants Barcelona. He started his career with the Catalans and the Blaugrana could swoop for him as a free agent given their current financial issues.

Matip, 32, had been a regular starter under Klopp until this season when he suffered a cruciate ligament tear. The Cameroonian defender has made 14 appearances across competitions, helping his side keep two clean sheets.

It looks as though the former FC Schalke man has played his last game for Liverpool. He's hinted at a possible return to the Bundesliga club if he can't see out his career at Anfield.

Adrian's days on Merseyside have long been numbered with Alisson Becker perhaps the best goalkeeper in the English top flight. Caoimhin Kelleher has taken the Spaniard's No.2 jersey and excelled in the role.

The 37-year-old hasn't made a single appearance this season and is headed for an exit. He's previously played for the likes of West Ham United and Real Betis.

These three potential departures should help chief executive Michael Edwards as he looks to overhaul the squad this summer. He'll be working to try and guide the Reds into a new era without Klopp at the helm.

Liverpool are reportedly tracking Wolves left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri

Liverpool have endured injury issues this season that have affected their pursuit of the Premier League title. Their defense has been struck by the injury curse with Andy Robertson nursing problems during the campaign.

The Reds appear to be eager to rectify the situation by signing a new left-back. Joe Gomez filled in for Robertson during his absence while Konstantinos Tsimikas was also sidelined.

The Mirror reports that Wolves' Rayan Ait-Nouri is on the Merseysiders' radar. The Algerian full-back has impressed with three goals and two assists in 33 games across competitions.

However, Liverpool face competition from title rivals Manchester City and Arsenal for Ait-Nouri, 22. He's valued at around £50 million and has two years left on his contract at Molineaux.
