Paris Saint-Germain are preparing a sensational bid for Chelsea’s Eden Hazard after rumours surfaced that the Belgian forward is disappointed by Jose Mourinho’s recent comments after the club’s exit from the Champions League. According to French newspaper L’Equipe, the deal would reportedly involve long term Chelsea target Edinson Cavani moving in the opposite direction, solving Mourinho’s striker problem that many argue has cost his side the chance to win a trophy this season.

The rumours began to surface after Hazard spoke out about Mourinho’s tactics in the aftermath of the midweek defeat to Atletico, saying: “Chelsea is not made to play football. We’re good on the counter, a little bit like Real against Bayern. Often, I’m asked to do it all by myself and it’s not easy.” PSG are now reportedly willing to act on these comments by offering Chelsea the chance to sign Cavani, but only if Hazard – who is valued at €61m by his owners – moves in the opposite direction. Cavani, though scoring freely in Ligue 1, has played out of position for the Ligue 1 champions so far this season due to Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s presence at the club and it would be surprising to see him turn down a move to the Premier League should he be offered a key role at the 2012 Champions League winners. The deal would be beneficial to Chelsea and with Mourinho having plenty of options in Hazard’s position compared to Cavani’s, it wouldn’t be the most surprising transfer of the summer should the deal go ahead.
