Manchester City boss Manuel Pelegrini is weighing up a bumper 40 Million Euro move for Bayern Munich custodian Manuel Neuer. The Chillean has a selection dilemma on hand given the shaky form of Joe Hart and the incompetence of Costel Pantilimon at the highest level and a move for the German No1 may well be a long term solution to the problem.

Though, the Bayern camp has moved swiftly to quash any impending rumours and ensure its fans that the treble winning goalkeeper is going nowhere and the club are in no mood to negotiate with the Citizens in this regard.

In other news, the Express and the Guardian have reported that Manchester United are well in contention to secure Ikay Gundogan’s signature to solve their midfield issues. But the Borussia Dortmund midfielder will not be easy to prize away as Spanish giants Barcelona as well as Real Madrid are hot on the heels of the German play-maker.

As an alternative, David Moyes may well have to turn to Wesley Sneijder, the Dutch ace who has already joined United at least a million times in the past transfer windows! Sneijder came close to signing for the Red Devils two seasons back. only for the move to be scuppered due to contractual issues and with a release clause of 13 million this time around, may well prove to be a good bargain for the short term purpose of bridging the gap at the top.
